The Department of Global Value Chains and Trade (GVCT), is the focal point for teaching, supervision and research in Economics, Business and Supply Chains, at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level.   The positions are located in the Economics group within the Department.  Economics at Lincoln University is currently offered through the Food and Resource Economics undergraduate programme, but also forms an integral part of a suite of BCom and Masters programmes.  These programmes reflect the Faculty’s emphasis on agribusiness and draw students from New Zealand as well as from the Asia-Pacific region.  Lincoln also has a Joint Education Programme with Yunnan Agricultural University in China in the area of Food and Resource Economics.

As a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Economics (International Trade), you will play a significant part  in advancing and enhancing the teaching of undergaduate and postgraduate students, develop and conduct high quality research, supervise post-graduate students and contribute to the wider functioning of the University. 

  • A PhD in an appropriate discipline
  • Evidence of ability to contribute to the continuing development of a teaching programme in international trade or applied economics
  • Demonstrated potential to / proven ability to - initiate, develop and conduct quality research, and publish the results in peer reviewed outlets and present the results at conferences and other events.
  • Enthusiasm for engaging in collaborative work, with internal colleagues, industry partners and other service providers
  • Ability to work across discipline boundaries to address key policy challenges
