Detail information about job Toi EDA LinkUp Eastern Bay of Plenty Co-ordinator. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Eastern BoP opportunity connecting schools and youth with growing industries
  • Join a team that's results-focussed and ambitious for our communities
  • Fixed term position to support and grow new programmes, events and initiatives

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

LinkUp Eastern Bay of Plenty connects rangatahi, education and the world of work. It was launched in 2017 following results from a Feasibility Study which confirmed the need for much stronger school-industry connections, and opportunities for young people to gain skills for work, and explore different options to help them clarify their aspirations. The region involved includes the area and populations served by the Ōpōtiki, Whakatāne and Kawerau District Councils. There are both longstanding and newer fast-growing industries establishing in the area. In particular the Māori economy is growing exponentially.

LinkUp EBoP creates practical information and experiences for students and education leaders to grow their understanding about BoP industries and vocational pathways; nurture leadership and "work readiness" in rangatahi and young people; and support "youth readiness" among employers. Our Establishment Co-ordinator is moving to a new job, so we're seeking an energetic and capable Co-ordinator to keep building the momentum. We're looking for someone who's a team player, well networked in the Eastern BoP, and passionate about rangatahi and young people succeeding.  The contract position is for one year. It is anticipated that this role may develop as the system becomes more established.

Toi EDA (The Eastern BoP Economic Development Agency) is a charitable trust. See the "About Toi EDA – Projects" Tab at www.toi-eda.co.nz for more about our Workforce focus, and the Feasibility Study.
