About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an individual wanting to make a positive difference to the lives of the children in Tauranga and neighboring communities. You will gain new skills, make new friends and have a lot of fun along the way.
Reporting to the Administration Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of a variety of sporting, craft and recreational activities for children in a safe environment as well as actively supervising the day to day performance of OSCAR Leaders and OSCAR volunteers. The hours of work are Monday – Friday during the school term with more hours available during the school hours. The ideal candidate will start asap so waste no time in applying!
Our programmes focus on providing constructive activities for children, advancing their personal development and encouraging them to try and learn new things.

Duties
- Supervise staff and volunteers
- Assist and oversee the implementation of the daily programme
- Ensure a safe and fun environment for all participants
- Assist with programme planning
Skills and Experience
- Empathy for children, their development and their cultural background
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Proven time management and basic administration skills
- Ability to work independently across all cultures and ages
- Ability to use initiative in organising on the spot games and activities
- Minimum 1 year experience in childcare sector
- Able to effectively manage a team
- First Aid Certificate preferred but not essential
