UUNZ Institute of Business is situated at 76-78 Symonds Street, Auckland CBD in its own office building, UUNZ Tower. A wide range of courses are offered from ESOL to Master's Degree level in conjunction with its education partner, The University of Southern Queensland, Australia. Since its establishment in 2002, UUNZ has emerged to become one of Auckland's leading private institutions.

Our English Language courses focus primarily on improving communicative skills, and a high standard of teaching is expected. We seek teaching staff who are passionate and committed to excellence and achievement, while providing a friendly learning classroom environment.

We are currently looking for Kiwi locals and other native English speakers to partner up with our English learners in becoming their conversation partners.

A little bit more about our students:

• They are very motivated English learners who are curious and keen to learn Kiwi culture and the different English-speaking accents
• They are adults with professional backgrounds in their home country
• They come from all sorts of background – IT, Business, Police Officer, Engineer
• Many of them want to take part in the local events and participate in community activities, but they are not confident enough because of their level of English

THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN.

The aim of this programme is to improve students’ confidence when speaking to locals – to help them understand the local culture, accents and slang.

We are looking for volunteers who are:

• Committed, friendly and have a can-do attitude
• Patient with those who may be shy or struggle to speak English
• Genuinely interested in sharing your culture whilst respecting others’ culture
• Happy to follow the guidelines given by the teacher/co-ordinator
