We are the Auckland Catholic Preschool Trust, and our mission is to create a community for children to grow and learn together in the catholic faith.
We are very excited to launch our newest centre, Mar Addai in Papatoetoe at 505 Great South Rd. This is a brand-new centre and opportunity for a highly experienced childcare professionals to help us continue to achieve our mission.

Role Summary
Our teachers are responsible for supporting the growth and development of our students. No two days will ever be alike and that is something that must excite you. From leading the team, taking an active part in the development of curriculum, completing paperwork through to nappy changes. Beyond all that fun, you are also responsible for living and leading our core catholic principles;
- promote and extend the learning and development of each child through the provision of quality early childhood education and care.
- Developing curriculum that assists all children to grow as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging to become valued contributors of society
- Providing services that are aligned to the Catholic values and traditions so you can promote the catholic character in the curriculum, attitudes and practices towards our children.
Skills
- You must have a warm, smiling face that makes every child feel special and loved and able to distribute hugs as needed.
- You must be able to laugh at jokes that you don't understand, or you don't find funny. Child humour can be a confusing minefield to navigate
- You will preferably have a little bit of quirkiness. If a child requests that you be the captain of a pirate ship, you will be the best pirate captain you can be.
- You must feel comfortable telling everybody in the same room as you, that you are going to use the bathroom.
- The ability to sing in tune is not necessary, however the ability to sing out of tune in front of a crowd is essential.
- Some knowledge of Frozen, Minions, Spiderman, Ariel, Peppa Pig, Octonauts, Thomas the Tank Engine and Sofia the First would be advantageous.
- A high level of multitasking is essential. If something would normally take 5 minutes to achieve, you must be comfortable with it taking 15 minutes or longer.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified teacher licence
- Previous childcare experience
- Sound knowledge of early childhood policies and procedures
- Has the resilience to work to deadlines to successfully solve problems and conflicts
