About the role
A responsible and friendly caregiver is wanted to provide after school care to a non-verbal 10 year old boy with Autism, in a family setting.
You will be required to work Monday – Friday during the school term from 2.30pm – 4.30pm (flexible end time)
Role will also include additional casual hours during weekends for family outings when an extra pair of hands is needed.
What you would be doing
Tasks will involve collecting child from School, bringing him home, supervising afternoon tea, showering if needed. Encouraging playtime (e.g. reading books etc) while Mum is looking after the two younger children in the house.
Skills and experience
We’re looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Desire to work with children and demonstrated capacity to enhance their experiences
- Experience in childcare and/or Autism
- Excellent communication skills
- Proven willingness to learn and improve
- Passion, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to high quality care
- Full drivers licence required and own vehicle
Hours will be paid via payroll, will also be reimbursed for mileage costs for school pick-up.
