The Company:
My client is a privately-owned manufacturing business operating out of modern and sophisticated premises in Mt Wellington. A premium provider, they have the largest footprint in NZ for their product type and export as well as lead the market domestically.  Whilst they have their standard products they also like a challenge and make to specification.
  
The Role:
This is a hands-on role reporting to the Manufacturing Manager where you will lead and manage the Production and Demand Planning across the manufacturing plant.   This involves a high level of communication with your two Direct Reports as well as Sales, Production and Supply Chain to determine daily Production and Manufacturing Schedules.
  
Your main responsibilities will include:

• Manage the daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly production plans based on requirements driven by demand and sales forecasts
• Prepare a master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each job to meet dispatch dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders
• Analyse production specifications and factory capacity data then perform required calculations to determine manufacturing process, machines, materials and labour requirements
• Prepare and place purchase orders to obtain raw materials ensuring minimum levels of stock is maintained
• Maintain an outstanding environment of internal controls.

What you need and must demonstrate in your application:

• Sound working knowledge of production and demand planning within a manufacturing environment
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to build credibility quickly at all levels within an organization
• Comfortable making decisions and pushing back tactfully when required
• Experienced user of Navision or EPICOR or similar ERP system including MS Excel
