A large financial services company is looking for someone experienced in Operations change and Capital Markets products to join their Risk Operations team
This organisation is a prominent financial services and fund management business in New Zealand.
As a Risk Operations Team Leader you will be completing daily risk management processes including reporting, market monitoring and taking action to increase risk levels where necessary. You will have a focus on credit risk but also liquidity and market risk. You will improve the risk management process by identifying its weaknesses and provide monthly and quarterly reports to the board. You will also be involved in developing the risk model and implementing it properly.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and report market activity for increased risk levels
- Preparation of daily risk reports
- System testing, report system issues and working with IT and external system providers for solutions
- Leading and managing the updating of the current risk management framework and other existing risk policy documents
- The preparation and presentation of the regular reporting on risk matters, including to senior management and the Board
- Assisting in developing and owning the implementation of new risk models, policies and procedures for new products and businesses
- Coordinating and managing Risk projects and other assigned tasks
- Supervising Risk Team Analysts
Requirements:
- Experience in making operational improvements and a desire to work in Risk
- Leadership qualities/experience
- Knows and has worked with Capital Markets products such as Equities and Derivatives
- Analytical capability, keen to work on numerical matters
