There are those who make and sell fertiliser and feed - and then there's Ballance Agri-Nutrients. We're real people making a real difference to kiwi farmers and sustainable food production. We believe that great performance begins with great people!

Our service centres are often a hive of activity, particularly over spring and autumn.  As a service centre manager, you're a "jack of all trades" who can easily and quickly turn your hand to the varied daily tasks.  With a strength in leading people and a practical mindset, you're adaptable.  You can roll up your sleeves to identify or fix plant issues, while connecting with the teams at Kaikohe and Waipapa.  You always keep a handle on what's happening in the wider Ballance business.  You'll embrace change and make informed decisions so that you deliver results to our customers, your team and the wider organisation.

Your passion for the agricultural sector and delivering a positive customer experience will see you thrive in this rural environment.  Every day you'll be building relationships and in peak seasons you will be responding quickly to changing despatch needs. Flexibility to adapt to seasonal demands is essential.  Sometimes you will be so busy dealing with customers and at other times you will be using your initiative to prepare for the next busy period.

You'll have:

  • Customer service experience
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Inventory management experience
  • Communication skills - written and verbal
  • Sound computer operating skills
  • Understand and have experience working with plant, loaders and / or forklifts.
  • A pro-active mind-set to safety, health and the environment
  • A positive “can-do attitude” and be able to drive yours and the teams performance
  • Current forklift and loader licenses are preferred (assistance toward these licenses may be provided for the right candidate)

If you are not afraid of hard work and to get your hands dirty, you will reap the benefits in this fast paced environment, with flexibility of hours in quiet times, great employee benefits and training and development opportunities.
