The Role

We currently have an opportunity for a Process Plant Operator to join our team. The primary focus of this position is the operation of our production plants which consists of distillation columns, reactors and chemical processing plants. Reporting to the Senior Operator and working in a shift team of 5 Operators, you will ensure the safe and timely manufacture of our products.

The hours of work are: 12 hour shifts, 4 on 4 off, two day shifts and two night shifts.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all manufacturing processes are conducted in accordance with company procedure.
  • Maintain all EH&S standards and ensure proper maintenance of all plant equipment and tools.
  • Achieve operating efficiency in all areas of the plant in meeting production targets.
  • Develop and make recommendations for improvement of operational procedures.
  • Manufacture goods for dispatch and ensure product is sampled and tested as laid down by QC procedures and specifications.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or engineering environment. Preferably in the chemicals industry.
  • A high level of mechanical aptitude
  • Proven ability to problem solve and learn quickly with understanding processes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs and  the ability to master internal plant specific computer systems.
  • Forklift experience (current license preferable).
  • A solid team player who works well under pressure and can effectively meet deadlines.
