We are seeking a Timber Machinist to take the responsibly for running the Dry Mill Infeed Area and the Dry Mill Planer at our Whangarei sawmill. You will be experienced, self-motivated, have proven leadership experience, and be a quality focused individual who has knowledge of the timber industry and holds a National Certificate in Timber Machining (or an equivalent Trade Certificate).
The shift patterns are: 4-day week (Monday to Thursday) 10.5-hour shifts, 7am to 6:00pm; 6pm to 5:00am (rotating).
To be successful in this role you will need to:
Ensure the efficient running of the Dry Mill In-feed Area, and Dry Mill Planer to deliver product of a high quality
Have a Health, Safety, Environment and Quality focus at all times
Be looking for continuous improvement opportunities
Provide advice and assistance with machine and plant maintenance
Be an experienced Timber Machinist with setting up machines to suit production runs and knowledge of optimising the run time of the planers
Have good numeracy, communication, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
Be a proven leader with exceptional people skills
