About the opportunity

This company is hailed as one of New Zealand’s great success stories. Highly innovative and growing, this New Zealand-based business has become a force to be reckoned with on the international market. With the goal of being the global leader in farmer productivity, the company has become expert in the design, manufacture and marketing of products and solutions aimed at increasing the efficiency and profitability of the agricultural sector.

About the role

Reporting to the Purchasing Team Leader, your mandate is to ensure that materials are ordered and delivered at the lowest total system cost throughout the life of the material. This is not merely a transactional purchasing role but will instead involve analysis of the demand forecasts to question MRP data to  develop and modify supply plans, then placing and expediting orders for both production raw materials and non-stock items required by the NPD and Engineering departments.

Skills and Experience

The company seeks an experienced  Buyer who can hit the ground running.
  • You have prior experience in an MRP-driven purchasing role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ideally you have experience from within a high SKU, technically orientated (engineering) environment.
  • Computer literate – with minimum intermediate level skills with ERP systems (ideally JDE) and MS applications (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Proficient in data analysis.
  • You’ll be well organised, have an eye for detail, and the ability to prioritise and multitask under pressure.
This organisation values proactive 'thinkers' who are down-to-earth and committed to manufacturing excellence and on-going improvement.
