We are looking to fill a position of Production Team Leader for our newly created late shift in our manufacturing facility in East Tamaki.  We are looking for someone who will lead a team of production employees to prepare and process raw material into completed finished product in accordance to GMP standards.

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, your main responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of production employees ensuring they have clear direction, and manufacture products according to specifications, company policies and procedures and the production plan.
  • Maintain the hygiene and integrity of the facilities and equipment employed in the mixing and packing operations.
  • Ensure operation of all equipment.
  • Perform all mixing, packing and other operations incorporating all the necessary quality assurance measure specified within the instructions.
  • Train staff in all areas of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
  • Review analyses and make recommendations regarding safety and productivity.
  • Participate in writing and developing SOP's.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and come up with both corrective and preventative actions.
  • Oversee production, coordinate its personnel and liaise with service contractors.
  • Carry out the duties of a First Aider, be an active member of the Health and Safety Committee and be an approved handler on the premises.
  • Reporting and process improvement.

The successful candidate will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Minimum of 2 years team leadership in a manufacturing environment;
  • Understanding of GMP principles & practices;
  • Current forklift licence;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Concern for timeliness and quality;
  • Physically fit;
  • Analytical and numerical skills;
  • Qualifications in science and/or leadership and/or health and safety (preferred but not essential);
  • A good command of written and spoken English is essential.
