The Company
My client is the NZ subsidiary of a global Multinational privately owned business. The company has been in existence for circa 70 years and has a proud history with a truly global reach. The business in NZ is circa $50M turnover and has a Head office in Highbrook with a number of distribution centres scattered across the country.
The Role
The role of Financial Accountant will report directly to the Financial Controller who has been with the business many years. The role is responsible for:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts including providing commentary on variances
- Tax compliance including GST, FBT and taxes
- Preparation of sales reporting
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
- Cashflow management
- Assisting with the annual audit and statutory reporting requirements
- Overseeing the stock count process
- Other ad hoc tasks
The business is looking with an eye to the future and is looking for someone who is keen to grow with the business and who could over time grow into the Finance Manager role whereby overtaking the management of the team. The business is looking ahead to a global system change in the years ahead and you will be able to get involved in this type of project.
Your Profile
To be considered for this role, we are looking for someone who is keen to come in and own the Financial and management Accounting function but in time be looking to add staff management to the CV and once proven can be groomed into this position. You will definitely need to be someone who likes to take ownership, is self-driven and can think commercially to support the business.
