Bag Boys is a long established brand in the landscape and supply sector, being privately owned and run for the past 20 years. The business is embarking on a transitional period in the coming months in line with future growth and expansion plans
This role on offer is an important part of our manufacturing process so we are seeking applications from candidates with the following specific attributes
Prior manufacturing and leadership experience is a must along with experience in machine operation. Applicants with a relevant engineering background also considered
The position involves setting up & running machinery and robotics in the production of a diverse range of bagging activity in the landscape and garden supply arena
An aptitude for machine operation & problem solving is critical. Main tasks include the filling and sealing of bags (via filling machinery), stacking (via robot). A keen eye for detail and quality is essential, as is meeting production targets set on a daily basis
Some fork hoist and front end loader work is required as well. The work is a mix of inside and outside work although all packing machinery is inside and undercover.
The role is approx 40 to 50 hours per week over 4 to 5 days. Shift work and seasonal weekend work will be needed (at least one shift/weekend seasonally).
You must have:
- supervisory experience
- previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment or relevant prior engineering experience
-a full NZ drivers license
-excellent communication skills
-a good work ethic
-a clean bill of health i.e. strong & fit as frequent lifting of 30kg at times is required
It is also advantageous to have (but not necessary):
-a current forklift licence.
