About the Employer
Our client has been established in the electroplating business for over 70 years and continues to keep up with economic and industry changes.  They are constantly adapting and thinking of new products and services to maintain their market share.  They predominately specialise in Electroplating of decorative finishes on metal and ABS plastics largely to the manufacturing industry of NZ.  They are a small business delivering big results!
  
 
About the Role
This is a fabulous role for someone with a background in factory or production management looking to take the next step in their career.  Our client is looking for a hands on General Manager who can lead by example on a day to day basis and who can also see the big picture for future strategic planning and implementation of changes and improvements that need to be made.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Manage the factory budget including turnover, chemical and labour costs
• Increase productivity of the factory
• Manage and motivate a team of workers to get the best out of them at all times
• Build and maintain excellent working relationships with customers and staff
• Ensure all orders are completed accurately and on time
• Ordering and safe storage of chemicals
• Ensure all Quality Assurance and Health & Safety regulations are strictly adhered to 

To be successful in this role you must have the following:

• A practical hands on knowledge of electroplating or chemical processes
• A proven track record of leading a team and increasing their productivity and output in a similar environment
• An ability to think and plan strategically to ensure the business runs as efficiently and cost  effectively  as possible
• An ability to ensure that new avenues of revenue are constantly being explored and implemented by keeping up with industry and economic trends
