About the role
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Provide timely, relevant, and high-quality economic forecasts, analysis and insights on the New Zealand primary sectors
- Work in conjunction with the NZ Chief Economist and wider Research team to support sustainable growth across the business and assist clients in meeting their business aims

About you
We are looking for a self-starter; a customer-focused effective communicator with proven knowledge of the main primary sectors who can build relationships both within the bank and externally.
Skills, knowledge & experience
- Experience in Agri-business, or as an economist or analyst in a financial institution
- Demonstrated knowledge of the main primary sectors, and the ability and passion to fill knowledge gaps quickly
- Well organised and proactive, including the ability to develop networks with key influencers across the primary sectors and work autonomously and set the research agenda.
- Knowledge of statistics and data management, and well-developed research and report-writing skills
- A qualification majoring in a related field is desirable
