About the role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Provide timely, relevant, and high-quality economic forecasts, analysis and insights on the New Zealand primary sectors
• Work in conjunction with the NZ Chief Economist and wider Research team to support sustainable growth across the business and assist clients in meeting their business aims

Role: Agriculture/Primary Sector Economist

Role Location: Auckland/Wellington

Reports to: Sharon Zollner, NZ Chief Economist

We are looking for a self-starter; a customer-focused effective communicator with proven knowledge of the main primary sectors who can build relationships both within the bank and externally.

Skills, knowledge & experience

• Experience in Agri-business, or as an economist or analyst in a financial institution
• Demonstrated knowledge of the main primary sectors, and the ability and passion to fill knowledge gaps quickly
• Well organised and proactive, including the ability to develop networks with key influencers across the primary sectors and work autonomously and set the research agenda.
• Knowledge of statistics and data management, and well-developed research and report-writing skills
• A qualification majoring in a related field is desirable
