The Company
The Joint Venture between Fulton Hogan and John Holland Rail specialises in the provision of rail infrastructure services for construction and maintenance throughout New Zealand. The Joint Venture’s Rail business delivers project management, asset management, engineering, construction and maintenance services to the public and private railway sectors throughout New Zealand.
The Job
Your new role will be a Project Materials Controller for Fulton Hogan John Holland Joint Venture working on the Wellington Metro Upgrade Project. Your main responsibility will be to manage the store, inventory, workshop and yard for the project. You will ensure that all stock levels are at the required level, undertake regular stock takes and maintain efficient and accurate records. There will also be times where you will undertake general store duties such as unloading materials and goods, cleaning the workshop when necessary and minor administration duties. At times you will also be required to operate machinery and trucks to move stock around.
Due to the nature of the project, this role will be Monday to Friday 7:30am-17:00 with possibility of working weekends and shift work when required.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate will have high attention to detail, a mechanical aptitude along with being a supportive team player. The following skills and attributes are also required:
- NZ Class 1 license is essential
- Forklift license is required
- Strong use of initiative
- Do it right, do it once attitude
- Previous experience working within a store/inventory environment
- Competent at using a purchasing/inventory control system
- Sound knowledge of the OSH principals and systems within a warehouse environment
- Be able to work weekends and shift work as and when required
