The ALU monitors Government legislation and regulations likely to affect the work of the Church and the charitable sector and provides the Church with expertise on tax and finance and other administrative matters. In conjunction with the ICB, the ALU strives to present a united Christian voice to Government and others.
The ICB is an ecumenical grouping that represents 35 New Zealand Christian Churches or entities. The ICB works to facilitate engagement between the churches on areas of common interest, such as changes in government policy, legislation, regulation or common law that may affect the operations of the charitable sector.
You will be responsible for monitoring the legislative and regulatory environment, and assessing consequent benefits and/or disadvantages as relating to the Charitable Sector.
You will be someone who has a keen interest in the Church and charitable environment, and the ability to foresee future challenges.
Your commitment will be supported by a demonstrable capability to build strong working relationships across a wide range of networks, and by strong communications skills.
You will be a skilled writer and researcher, responsible for communications to the Churches.
The successful applicant will report to the General Secretary of the Anglican Church
