Operations Manager – Mangere, NZ
CEVA logistics has an opportunity for an experienced, driven and demonstrated Operations Manager at our facility located in Mangere, NZ. This role reports to the Contract Manager.
The purpose of this role is to ensure safety in the work place, achieve productivity, meet customer service targets and utilise resources effectively within budget.
It is vital that you are customer focused, resilient, have strong commercial acumen and understand the operations of a 3PL environment.
Key Responsibilities;
- Lead the Warehouse site team and ensures effective, labour scheduling, training and instruction of staff.
- Engage with multiple customers regards day to day operational activities
- Use personal behaviour to build a high performance team culture.
- Promote continuous improvement, LEAN philosophies and trial and error to find new ways for getting things done.
- Lead and participate in people development strategies including talent management (succession planning), performance review and personal development plans.
- Ensure the business objectives are exceeded and operational and financial KPIs are meet and/or exceeded.
- To lead and develop a culture focusing on safety, service and operations
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- 2-3 years’ experience in managing warehouse operations (essential)
- Cert IV in Logistics/ Warehouse Management (desirable)
- A strong customer service and customer relationship management orientation
- Possesses effective financial, analytical and critical reasoning
- Ability to interpret and analyse financial reports
- Exposure to Enterprise Agreements and Industrial Relations systems
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Well-developed people management, mentoring and leadership abilities
- Customer centric. Continuously seeks to find better ways of meeting or exceeding the customer’s expectations.
