Dunedin City Council is seeking a dynamic Procurement Advisor to join our Procurement team.
You will be responsible for enterprise-wide oversight of the processes relating to the DCCs purchasing of goods and services. 2IC to the Procurement Manager role, you’ll support changes to implement a more commercial approach to the DCC’s strategy for cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, and to drive continuous improvement of internal competencies in procurement, contract management and supplier relationship management. Your main responsibility is to optimise procurement spend, so that the DCC can protect the interests of rate payers and invest in growth of the Dunedin people and community.
You will ideally have demonstrable negotiation, communication and influencing skills. Extensive knowledge of strategic procurement planning/implementation, including relevant NZ government procurement standards and guidelines is desirable.
The role has a wide scope and will suit someone who has had significant senior procurement, category and procurement contract management experience and qualifications/certification (CIPS Membership) across multiple industries.
