About the role

Reporting to the Production Manager and leading a team of 10 – 20 staff, this pivotal Production Supervisor role is responsible for the following:

• Safety: To lead and support the team in safe work practices and to ensure the company's HS&E policies and procedures are adhered to by all staff under your control.
• Quality and delivery: To ensure that product of acceptable quality is produced on time at minimum cost in accordance with agreed production schedules and delivery rates.
• Maximum Efficiency: To continually improve plant efficiency across your functional area by generating action plans and driving improvement in systems to ensure they are efficient, transparent and deliver required results.
• Continuous Improvement: To promote a culture of continuous improvement and to execute productivity improvement initiatives and projects to effectively reduce the cost of goods.
• Leadership: To provide leadership, direct and support to staff, and ensure appropriate resources and skills are available.
• Training: To ensure staff are well inducted and receive ongoing training and development to continuously improve competency levels.

Skills and experience

You will be a highly motivated individual with proven leadership skills. You take a proactive approach to ensuring the integrity of the production processes and team culture. You will also have the following:

• 5+ years' experience in production with experience as a supervisor
• Sound people management and excellent written and oral communication skills.
• The ability to generate creative and practical ideas and solutions to problems.
• Current knowledge of relevant quality, safety and employment legislation.
• Have a sound appreciation of lean methodologies in a manufacturing environment.
