About the business and the role

Alexander Group is a privately-owned specialist road transport business responsible for the distribution of compressed gas for global company BOC.   

As a key member of the team, and reporting to the General Manager, you will have strong interpersonal skills as well as being able to work individually to provide excellent customer service and ensure efficient distribution functions to BOC customers in the North Island.

The role is Monday to Friday day shift.

Job tasks and responsibilities

• Produce daily run delivery schedule
• Ensure that all BOC distribution runs are scheduled effectively to meet customer requirements whilst maintaining compliance with NZTA legislation
• Liaise daily with drivers and supervisors
• Review and analyse daily usage of fleet and use data to recommend fleet efficiencies and track fleet performance in relation to vehicles and shifts
• Monitor delivery performance
• Assist in data analysis and monthly reporting to customers

Skills and experience

You must have:

• A "Safety First" attitude
• Attention to detail

• The ability to think on your feet and problem solve
• Ability to function well within a team environment
• Intermediate knowledge of the MS Office suite

  The following would be an advantage, but not essential:

• Previous experience in a scheduling/ dispatch role
• Operations background
• Previous experience in the road transport sector
• Understanding of Dangerous Goods transportation
