The Regional Sourcing Manager-Oceania is responsible for organizing and running the commercial sourcing activities across our NZ and AU sites. The purpose is to develop, deliver and contribute to the profitability, competitive advantage and future strategy of the business units by ensuring that the unit receives an uninterrupted supply of direct and indirect goods and services, including traded goods, at optimum cost, time and efficiency.
The role reports directly into the NZ General Manager and has a dotted line to the Australian GM, as well as the segment central sourcing function. The role is largely autonomous, but works closely with segment sourcing (in Finland and Hong Kong) and local supply chain managers mainly on those direct and indirect categories.
The role will support the segment with category item sourcing by understanding unit business requirements, ensuring timely inclusion in category plans, following up of saving actions, providing volume and performance data to the category manager and monitoring supplier performance.
Locally (NZ+AU), the role takes ownership of the commercial negotiations process and pricing, developing and executing effective and consistent unit sourcing strategies, drives local/regional market analysis, maintains relevant KPIs to monitor the efficiency of sourcing and more.
Our NZ unit, where you will be mainly based, has a large site based in Henderson with 4 different production technologies. The Australian Site, based in Windsor - near Melbourne - has 3 technologies. You will build strong connections with key local functions, such as planning, production, logistics, sales, finance, and NPD etc. Regular travel is required to Australia and also other countries as required for the sourcing.
We seek someone with a minimum 4 years of experience in sourcing in an industrial manufacturing or traded goods environment. You will need to have a proven track record of sourcing globally and a history of outstanding supplier relationship management. Someone who is hands-on and has strong sourcing knowledge in managing a very diverse portfolio of materials and services would be ideal. Good commercial and business understanding is essential as will be your eye for detail and structured approach.
Having worked in an international environment, or at least sourced internationally (especiallay Asia) would be advantageous, as would and a degree or higher qualification in a technical or commercial field.
