Our client is currently experiencing significant growth within their Supply Chain function. They are one of New Zealand’s most exciting organisations that offers individuals the opportunity to be challenged daily whilst providing a fantastic service to a wide range of internal stakeholders.
The Material Planner is responsible for ensuring all components are ordered and delivered on time, the team has accurate supplier and process lead-time information and opportunities for improvement are identified through efficient communication.
Key responsibilities
- Liaise with all internal stakeholders predominantly engineering, design and production to ensure demand is identified early and in line with supplier lead-times
- Inventory planning and analysis
- Support the Supply Chain Manager with Continuous Improvement projects and initiatives
- Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of material characteristics, manufacturing capabilities in house and other areas that affect proper management of inventories
- Manage product life-cycles and End of Life product process to reduce obsolete inventories
- Work with Master Data team to ensure vendor lead-times and internal lead-times are maintained correctly
- Ensure all planning related data is recorded and updated regularly
- Analyse deviations to the plan, identifying root causes
Skills & Experience required
- 3+ years’ experience in a material planning position, ideally from within a manufacturing environment
- Understanding of the importance of accurate reporting and ability to set these up
- A proactive and can-do attitude with the ability to keep calm in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Ability to build effective working relationships with external and internal customers
- Very good MS Office skills
