The Company
Our client, is a world class 3rd party logistics provider. They are 100% NZ owned and currently represent several major international automotive brands and specialise in the execution, design and delivery of all aspects of Supply Chain and Logistics functions. They are in an exciting period of expansion and further development.
The Role
As the General Manager you will report directly to the Chairman and Board. You will have overall ownership and responsibility for the performance of the warehouse and drive the business forward into the next phase of it’s development and expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet the budgeted P & L and Balance Sheet targets for the year
- Ensure all staff and customers operate in a zero-harm environment
- Work with the Board to develop and set the Strategic Plan and ensure resources are in place to meet objectives
- Lead, build and maintain a fantastic team culture
- Work with, and enhance the relationships with customers as well as bringing on board new customers
- Establish annual operational plans
- Prepare board reports and attend board meetings
- Train and develop staff
- Oversee growth of business into expanded premises
About You
- You will be in a leadership role currently or have recent leadership experience
- You will be currently or recently have worked in the logistics industry
- You will be innovative and have a strong track record of successful leadership
- You will have experience of preparing business plans and forecasts and more importantly meeting them
- You will have a comprehensive understanding of financial reporting
- You will have excellent computer skills at all organisational levels
- You will have a strategic mindset, but just as importantly have a hands-on attitude to lead your team from the front
