Our client is a speciality MDF manufacturer who focus on an extremely high-quality product, which exports to international and local markets. The company have a large focus on innovation, quality and sustainability and pride themselves in their ability to consistently produce individual pieces of high quality in a sustainable manner.

As a result of an internal promotion, they are now looking for a Quality Assurance / QA Manager to join and lead their quality and compliance team at their manufacturing plant in Gore, Southland. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall product’s final quality and managing a small team of 3 QA staff. You will develop and continuously improve product quality and quality systems and be a point of contact for customer compliance, investigations and claims. The company export worldwide, so the overall goal is to analyse data, panel properties and emissions to make sure the company is meeting standards for ANZ, Japan (JIS), USA (EPA – TSCA) and ensure the company’s reputation for a high quality, environmentally safe product is maintained.

This position requires someone of good experience in the following areas:

• QA Management from an MDF, panels manufacturing or similar industry background
• Knowledge of international standards: JIS, ISO, IANZ, TSCA
• Excellent document control skills
• Root cause analysis and deviations investigation and report writing
• H&S focussed and experienced
• Laboratory knowledge preferred, ideally to IANZ standards
• Qualified or experienced in a technical discipline with an understanding of the manufacturing process
