We are looking for an experienced Dispatcher to build up and manage the dispatch function of our family owned transport business. This position in ‘hands on’ and a vital part of our team.

We have a fleet of trucks and machinery and cover a wide variety of jobs, the role is challenging and the successful applicant should have previous dispatch experience.  
 

The role is responsible for maximizing the use of our current resources across our brands and depots whilst maintaining brand integrity and exceeding customer expectations. 

Your main duties will be:
1. Dispatching trucks in the most cost effective way on a daily basis
2. Answering of telephone calls from customers and key suppliers
3. Ensuring our customers are liaised with and services provided in a timely manner
4. Allocating the work to drivers and the supervision of some staff
5. Available for roster work which may include weekend work

• Think quickly as in this industry things happen that need resolution quickly
• Good relationships with key customers and suppliers
• An organised and tidy work ethic
• The ability to contribute and succeed in a team environment
• Ideally you will have a knowledge of the New Zealand transport industry
• To have an accurate understanding of different vehicle configurations and their capabilities
• Strong geographical knowledge of Auckland and Auckland region 
• Knowledge of health and safety
