The opportunity
Pitango is synonymous with soup and they are the original pioneers of the fresh chilled soup category.  Based in Auckland and producing for the New Zealand and export market, they have been in operation for over 15 years. The role
This role is an autonomous role, reporting through to the General Manager.  As Quality Assurance Manager you will work as a key member of the senior leadership team that will shape, develop and lead the future strategy of the business.  You will be responsible for developing and maintaining QA systems and take the lead on all internal and external audits: FSP, WQA, BRC and MPI (or equivalent).
  
  
Experience and attributes
This role needs a strong communicator who will lead, who is enthusiastic, who is able to take on greater responsibility and who has:
  • Proven systems development and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills with the ability to influence others, maintain relationships, and get the job done
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement throughout the business
  • A thorough understanding of the Australian/NZ food standards code, RMP and other recognised international quality standards such as WQA and BRC.
  • Considerable experience in developing and maintaining HACCP based food safety programs and quality management systems, particularly Risk Management Programs.
  • An understanding of, experience managing or interest in becoming involved with H&S
  • Relevant tertiary qualification and experience in the food industry.
