Great opportunity for an experienced Inwards Supervisor searching a new challenge in Auckland North Shore.
We are seeking for an experienced and driven Supervisor for our client in Albany.
is position is responsible for managing and coordinating the day-to-day activities of the Inward Goods function for the Albany Warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Inwards Goods area and supervise up to three staff members.
- Plan and organise daily work requirements and allocate duties to the Inward Goods Team.
- In conjunction with peers, foster a culture of team work, load sharing and joint problem solving.
- Together with the NZ Distribution Manager, develop processes to control all incoming goods, stock and non-stock items.
- Sign, Receipt, unpack and check off stock from both local and overseas suppliers.
- Capture lot numbers and expiry dates for incoming goods as required.
- Input receipt information into computer system.
- Unload trucks/shipping containers.
- Check Shipping containers for biosecurity risk.
- Receipt hazardous goods shipments (Class 3,4,5,6,8 and 9).
- Put receipted stock away in warehouse locations and record movements.
- Enter put away movements in the computer system.
- Maintain set housekeeping standards.
- Stock maintenance of company inventory.
- Work closely with the logistics team to develop information flow to provide a forward view of all goods.
- Ensure items that have immediate sales demand, either through back orders or cross docking, are promptly processed.
- Ensure stock locating is in keeping with the agreed segmentation of the warehouse locations.
- Answer incoming queries from internal customers.
- Manage budget compliance.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Warehousing/supply chain experience.
- Experience in a “break pack” warehouse environment.
- Forklift licence (counterbalance and reach truck).

- Ability to supervise and assist in developing a diverse team.
- Understanding of Occupational Health & Safety principles, and a focus on OH&S and compliance.
- Focus on productivity & throughput, and quality and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and ERP principles.
- Effective communication style and interpersonal skills.
- Open approachable leadership style with proven role model leadership skills
- Excellent time management and organisation skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement.
- A pragmatic and ‘can do’ attitude, along with energy and enthusiasm.
- Moderate walking, standing, some stooping, bending and reaching.
- Able to safely lift up to 25kg and work around machinery/vehicles with moving parts.
