Our coatings manufacturing plant in Auckland has an opportunity for a Warehouse Manager to join our New Zealand Operations team.

Reporting to the Operations Manager NZ, this position is responsible for managing the warehousing and distribution activities (including managing 3PL relationships) to ensure efficient and cost-effective use of facilities for storing and distributing finished products; and to ensure prompt delivery of orders.  The position also ensures that warehouse resources work as a cohesive team and with the wider site team to ensure expedient and efficient delivery of customer orders.  The position further ensures compliance to all PPG policy and procedures, PPG 5S and EH&S requirements and reporting.

In order to succeed in this position, you will work to PPG’s high standards and consistently meet our OTIF (On Time In Full) requirements ensuring all orders are picked and dispatched on time. You will have a team reporting in to you and will be expected to lead them in an engaging manner. You will be a strong relationship builder and communicator, successfully and productively managing multiple relationships with external and internal stakeholders.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Warehousing and/or Supply Chain qualifications
  • Previous extensive Warehouse management is critical
  • Knowledge of Dangerous goods handling an advantage (specifically chemicals or paint)
  • Ability to influence operators and distributors to prioritise work in order to meet deadlines.
  • Effective and regular communication with team and site team to ensure management of expectations and delivery timelines.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Good knowledge of MRP software with extensive experience in inventory management
