An opportunity has arisen for a Week Night Terminal Leading Hand - Freight Handler to join the Hornby Branch.
The position provides support to the afternoon Terminal team, you will need to be a people person who has a proactive attitude, works well under pressure, clear communication skills and takes ownership to provide quality service with an eye for detail.
Night Terminal Leading Hand - Freight Handler main function is to ensure all units are loaded and unloaded with priority and maximization. This is a hands on role and industry experience is essential.
Reporting to the Night Shift Manager, the position responsibilities include:
- Workplace Safety
- Loading / Unloading Quality
- Meeting departure schedules
- Attention to detail with a proven ability to meet expected performance levels
- Completes work assignments and priorities
- Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics
- Ensures freight quality and integrity
- Maintain a safe work area
The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Experience and knowledge of the NZ Transport industry including general freight, logistics and freight forwarding
- Be able to deliver outstanding performance in a fast paced environment while keeping your cool under pressure
- F Endorsed forklift license
- A NZ Citizen or have a legal NZ Work Permit
A pre-employment drug test will be required for the successful applicant
