Our client is a prominent name in the towing industry. With the main hub in Central Auckland they have multiple sites and service the Auckland Metro region in conjunction with affiliate companies and their own fleet.

Established in 1982, they operate a fleet of approximately 56 vehicles. The business is experiencing phenomenal growth and an opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Dispatch Co-ordinator to join their high performance team.

The company offers a full complement of towing services including, Parking enforcement, roadside rescue, vehicle recoveries and transportation, as well as accident and emergency services.

The key purpose of the role is to work in conjunction with the Customer Services team to supervise the day to day activity of Drivers. To dispatch a range of towing vehicles to varying jobs that have been logged for completion. Vehicles range from small enforcement towing trucks right through to large vehicle transport and emergency recovery vehicles. Speed and accuracy is of the essence in this particular role.

Key requirements:

  • Good area knowledge of greater Auckland
  • Some knowledge about different types of vehicles and trucks
  • Immaculate communication skills, both verbal and written (clear and concise)
  • Computer literacy with Microsoft Office
  • Must be highly organised with an ability to prioritise workflow and workload
  • Ability to work under pressure and display a strong work ethic
  • Proven ability to analyse, problem solve and make decisions
  • Ideally a minimum of four years previous experience as a Dispatcher
  • Must be able to work the hours and be available 24/7
  • Some form of tertiary qualification in customer service and or distribution/ logistics

Someone with dispatch experience from within the transport and or distribution type industry would be highly regarded.

Hours: 24/7 roster, based on a rotating shift. Each shift is 8-10 hours per day.

Pay rate: $22.00 hour start with a review in six months. There is also career development available for stand out performers.
