Description
• The monitoring/testing of odour emissions, water quality parameters, gas detection, indoor air quality, workplace noise and dust and other environmental parameters as required.
• Ensuring that environmental risks are identified and appropriate plans to mitigate these risks are implemented across the site
• Collecting accurate, reliable and consistent environmental monitoring data and supporting the provision of monitoring services to the business.
• Provisioning of sample analysis and data processing activities.
• Providing effective site investigations, sample planning programmes for monitoring.
• Compliance with Supply Chain, legal and other standards (including but not limited to consents to discharge, HSNO, RMA)Risk assessment in relation to environmental aspects and impacts
• Environmental audits, monitoring and report writing
• Environmental complaint investigating
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety standards and Supply Chain Standards
• Maintenance of EROM and driving environmental corrective action where needed
• Implement contingency plans and manage the impact of unexpected events
• Complying with all Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures
Profile
• A tertiary qualification in Environmental Science/ Engineering or equivalent
• A minimum of 2 years environmental management systems experience or similar. Exposure to ISO14001 preferred
• Experience of working in a food manufacturing environment is desirable
• Detailed and practical knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Office
• Good technical report writing skills
• The ability to work unsupervised to achieve goals
• A collaborative working style with the ability to influence a wide range of people
• Have an extremely high level of attention to detail and be able to analyse data and other sources of information
• Have good communication and interpersonal skills to be able to liaise with internal and external stakeholder
