SCATS Operator- 18 month Fixed term Be Part of the Solution
The Auckland Transport Operations Centre (ATOC) is a partnership between Auckland Transport and the New Zealand Transport Agency. The key purpose of ATOC is to operate one transport system; providing an integrated approach to moving people goods and services throughout the Auckland Region.
We are looking for a SCATS Operator for a 18 month fixed term role, based at our City ATOC offices with an occasional requirement to work in our Smales Farm based ATOC office. Both NZTA and Auckland Transport staff the ATOCs and the primary purpose is to keep Auckland moving through a single network approach.
The role
As a SCATS Operator you will monitor and actively manage the traffic systems (primarily SCATS and Traffic Signals) to maximize traffic safety and efficiency on the road network. Using the traffic signal systems and CCTV systems you will take action to respond to incidents, faults and other issues with the network. This work involves working shifts, including weekends on occasion.
Skills and experience
You will have knowledge of traffic signals and traffic operations, attention to detail and the ability to solve complex problems. You will not only identify traffic signal issues, you will implement solutions designed to maximize network performance.
