Operations Manager – Fix Auto New Zealand

Fix Auto is the fastest-growing, professional collision repair network in the world, and Fix Auto New Zealand is one of its key areas in development.

As we develop our network of independently-owned, fully-branded franchised body shops in New Zealand, we are looking to add an experienced Operations Manager to our team.

Our business model is built on providing the tools and support to drive transformational change and increased profit, complemented by our reputation as pioneers in new repair technology systems and processes, which enable our owner-operators to improve customer service and reduce repair times and cost.

The Role: You will be reporting to the Head of Business at Fix Auto New Zealand and working closely with Fix Auto World’s International Operations Manager in developing and maintaining body shop performance and profitability through the implementation of best practice and customer relations. The main tasks within the role are as follows;

Initially, the role will involve network development, including;

·        The introduction of the Fix Auto’s operational procedures into New Zealand;

·        Supporting the Head of Business in selecting new owner-operators;

·        To train the Fix Auto staff and guide the first wave of franchisees into the Fix Auto way;

·        To introduce and train on Fix Auto’s proprietary web-based tools and performance management software.

·        To work with the key personnel with the chosen body shop management system;

·        To work with all staff throughout the shops to encourage higher levels of best practice;

·        To build relationships with key industry partners across the country.

Along with:

  • Full understanding of customer performance and KPI management;
  • Business financial reviews;
  • Estimating analysis;
  • Full performance enhancement audits;
  • Regional performance management using Fix Auto’s bespoke IT systems;
  • Assisting each of the owner-operators to reach and surpass their objectives;
  • A clear understanding of business planning;
  • A consistent approach to performance.
  • Developing long term exit strategies with the franchisees.

The Ideal Candidate is a highly experienced collision repair professional with a proven track record in increasing shop profitability, operating efficiency and customer satisfaction. He or she needs to be computer literate and a first-class communicator, capable of managing and exceeding customer expectations. They are self-motivated, disciplined in approach and hold strong organisational skills. The successful candidate will be based in New Zealand and should have the following experience and skills:

 

•   Experience in collision repair operations;

•   Ideally but not essential, an understanding of franchise business;

•   Strong financial awareness;

•   Be an excellent communicator and presenter;

•   Have an eye for detail;

•   Have the ability to persuade and encourage, while achieving the consistency required;

•   Be willing and able to travel extensively throughout New Zealand;

•   Have experience in dealing with various cultures;

•   Hold a valid driver’s license.
