Our client, PRO-FORM, is a team of automotive accessories professionals who continuously transform transport, committed to continued learning, trying new ways and who earn their world-class status of excelling in the global plastics market. PRO-FORM sells a range of pickup truck accessories to automotive companies in more than 60 countries throughout the world.
Reporting to the COO, the new role of Purchasing Manager is responsible for ensuring the company has the right raw materials and inventory to produce their high quality range of automotive products. Leading a team of two MRP Controllers, you will negotiate and form strong relationships with key suppliers; identify the very best materials in terms of quality and price; and manage and improve stock control processes and finished goods. This role is also responsible for product distribution and full inventory control.
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced purchasing manager leader with solid experience in the manufacturing sector. In addition, you will have:
- Ideally a tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline;
- Leadership experience of both a purchasing function and of people;
- Strong understanding of Level Pull and Kanban systems;
- Significant experience managing stock to ensure optimal levels;
- Relationship management experience;
- An uncompromising focus and approach to health & safety;
- Strong negotiation and perseverance skills;
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
