Colour Matcher
Packer Leather, Australia's leading leather manufacturer and a fifth generation family business, is looking for someone to develop and manage our colour formulations.
The successful applicant will work with the Finishing Manager to ensure that the final product meets the customer's colour requirements.
It is a hands-on role in a production environment with an emphasis on specification matching.
Tasks:
- Develop and manage colour formulations
- Mixing of pigment concentrates
- QC testing of production paint batches on roller coating and spray lines
- Maintain colour formulations in software system
Position is based in Narangba, on the northside of Brisbane in Queensland Australia. Working Monday to Friday with some possible variation to the set hours to fit in with production requirements.
Experience:
- Colour matching using visual observation within a light box and by Spectrophotometer
- Spraying out panels and quality testing
- Worked with water based paint formulations
- Correct use of dyes, inorganic and organic pigment colourants, neon colourants and effect pigments
Skills & Attributes:
- Reliable
- Computer skills
- Spectrophotometry knowledge, both theory and practical
- Sound knowledge of leather finishing processes (desirable)
- Personal scheduling & organisational skills
- Flexible, adaptable, open to change
- Hands on and ready to roll up the sleeves
