About the role
Research, Evaluation and Insight is a newly formed group at Inland Revenue. It exists to inspire people to improve the lives of our customers and outcomes for New Zealand. We are seeking a broad-based Analyst with the ability to extract and match complex data from multiple sources.
This is a senior role in the team, with technical and thought leadership responsibility.
What we're looking to see from you:
- Your solid background in an analysis role; you're able to understand key issues in order to collate the right data, critically analyse complex information, identify gaps, and understand the broader context to make an informed recommendation or insight.
- Exceptional documentation practices, allowing others to QA and repeat your work at a later date.
- Demonstrable commercial expertise using SAS or SQL.
- Your use of initiative and perseverance in understanding data, and ensuring the interpretation is correct.
- The ability to deal with ambiguity, and bring together evidence from a variety of sources.
- Creativity! You're someone who's always on the lookout for new ways of doing things. You write and tell compelling stories that inspire action.
- A history of reliably delivering fit-for-purpose solutions in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
- A customer ethos (both internal and external); you're someone who wants to make life easier for our customers and direct clients. Let's make it simple to get it right from the start.
