About the role

 

Research, Evaluation and Insight is a newly formed group at Inland Revenue. It exists to inspire people to improve the lives of our customers and outcomes for New Zealand. . We are seeking an experienced Researcher or Customer Insight professionalto take the lead in designing and delivering evidence-based solutions to the business.

 

You'll be utilising your experience in designing approaches that deliver insight into the needs and behaviours of our customers. 

 

This is a senior role in the team, with technical and thought leadership responsibility.

 

What we're looking to see from you:

  • Your solid background in a research or customer insight role; in particular we'd love to see your sound understanding in qualitative, quantitative or design and insight practices, with an ability to consolidate disparate information sources to produce evidence-based solutions.
  • An understanding of human decision making and behaviour, and implications for collecting and interpreting customer information.
  • The ability to deal with ambiguity, and bring together evidence from a variety of sources, critically assessing it for gaps or conflicts.
  • A solutions focus; you have the ability to identify the core business problem and design an approach that delivers an actionable solution.
  • Creativity! You're someone who's always on the lookout for new ways of doing things. You design, write and tell compelling stories that inspire action.
  • A history of reliably delivering fit-for-purpose solutions in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.
  • Experience designing and delivering actionable insights in the private sector would be an advantage.
  • A customer ethos (both internal and external); you're someone who wants to make life easier for our customers and direct clients. Let's make it simple to get it right from the start.
