Detail information about job Sales Support Consultant. Terms and conditions vacancy

  • Inclusive and welcoming culture
  • Great Newmarket location
  • Knowledge of Tikanga will be an advantage
Are you passionate about Māori culture and keen to be part of a programme to increase cultural awareness and empathy in the workplace?  Do you want to start your career in a business that recognises and celebrates the values of a diverse range of perspectives and approaches to problem solving? At Heartland Bank we have started our journey to become an employer of choice for Māori, we want you to be part of this journey and at the same time have the opportunity to develop sales and other business skills and disciplines that will set you up for your future success.

We have a new opportunity for a recent university graduate to start their career with Heartland Bank in Newmarket.  There will be two key parts to your role:

Firstly, you will join the team that helps small business owners apply for a loan online so that they don’t waste precious time queuing in a bank branch.  As a Sales Support Consultant you will help the team with sales administration tasks such as preparing loan documentation, assisting with compliance checks and contacting our customers by phone and email to provide after sales support .As you master some initial tasks we will add new ones and increase their complexity as your confidence grows.  We believe whanaungatanga, or teamwork, is important.  You will be part of a small team within the organisation that has a great sense of whānau which is enhanced through organised social and sporting activities outside of business hours.  Manaakitanga, or care, is also something we take seriously when working within teams, but also with our customers.

Secondly, you will also be involved in the work that the People and Culture Team at Heartland lead to develop an awareness and understanding of Māori culture at the Bank.  We offer free tikanga Māori and reo Māori lessons and would like you, like many of your colleagues in the others parts of our business, to share your ideas on how, and then participate in making, our workplace welcoming, firstly to Māori but also to people from all heritages and cultures.

To be considered for this role, you will need to be able to speak clearly as, following your training, you will be talking directly with our small business customers.  Our preference is you have held part-time roles where you have had some customer contact – this might include retail and hospitality jobs.  More than everything else you will be vibrant and energetic, enjoy engaging with people around you and mucking in to get the job done.  Māori language skills or knowledge of tikanga will be an advantage but we have plenty of opportunities to learn here at Heartland if you are passionate and have an affinity with Māori culture.

Nā reira, whakapā mai, get in touch with Rhianna Woods People & Culture Executive at Heartland Bank now if you reckon this could be you.
