The Ministry of Social Development touches the lives of over a million New Zealanders every year.  

We are looking for a Senior Client Experience Analyst who will bring their experience and play a mentoring and leadership role on a small team dedicated to championing the voice of the client.

This role will suit an individual who can demonstrate:

  • Experience with client or customer experience design (e.g. persona creation, journey mapping, etc.)
  • Experience with person-centred co-design techniques
  • Experience Mentoring or coaching to build capability
  • Previous experience leading projects or contributing to programmes of work
  • Experience working with managers in other teams and/or presenting or contributing at committee meetings

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team of high performers. We are a new team with high expectations from our leadership to improve how we work with clients and deliver projects that bring the voice of the client into the heart of what we do.

As examples of our work, our team recently redeveloped MSD’s Service Charter into a new Client Commitment (https://www.workandincome.govt.nz/about-work-and-income/our-services/our-commitment.html) and we are about to begin a project to redeveloping how we gather clients’ voices that will more than double the size of the team. This work will include working closely with trial sites across the country to create a culture of celebrating great service and a practice of learning and continuous service improvement.

As the only permanent senior member of the team, your experience will be essential in leading a range of service delivery projects and sharing your skills with other team members. This will include mentoring and coaching and raising overall capability. You will also be called upon to act for the team at meetings with managers across the organisation and at committees.

We operate in a dynamic and responsive environment so the ability to deliver under pressure and deal with ambiguity is crucial.
