We have an exciting opportunity within our global company Tribal, for a permanent Benchmarking Consultant to be based in Wellington, New Zealand. This role is a key customer-facing role responsible for the delivery of our Performance Benchmarking product to our clients.

To provide some background, Tribal provides strategic consultancy through a range of benchmarking services to the education sector, in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. Our assessments involve comparing income, staffing, costs and space with good practice – as well as benchmarking student performance. This analysis provides our clients with an objective base upon which to plan investment decisions and develop future strategy.

In this role you will be responsible for managing several benchmarking projects simultaneously – setting your own timeframes and prioritising workloads. You will be required to collate and manipulate data and present your findings to clients (both large and small audiences) using PowerPoint and written reports. In addition, you will organise and undertake onsite data verification visits at ITP's, Universities, and Wānanga, and liaise with clients, face to face and via telephone and email. Whilst not a sale role, you should also be able to report sales opportunities from clients to senior consultants and support the selling of other services where possible and appropriate to clients.

The person…

We are looking for a person of graduate calibre in commerce or education with professional experience. You should be highly numerate and analytical, with a logical approach to problem-solving. Excellent organisation, customer facing and time management skills are a must and you will be a motivated self-starter used to working to deadlines. You will also have strong written skills with the ability to produce accurate reports.

This will be balanced by strong communication and interpersonal skills, both in person and over the telephone. You must be comfortable and able to quickly build productive rapport with staff and clients at all levels and work as part of a team. You will also need thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, preferably advanced in Excel and be able to travel extensively. Previous experience of delivering presentations is desirable, as is experience of working in a tertiary education environment.
