Health and Safety is now and will continue to be paramount across New Zealand workplaces. As such, our services are in high demand and we currently have an opportunity for a Trainee Hazardous Materials Surveyor to start a career in a booming industry. 

This position will primarily involve fieldwork and the collection of samples and data on our clients’ sites throughout Wellington and the Lower North Island. The field work will involve asbestos and contaminated site assessments, including:

• Asbestos building surveys.
• Methamphetamine assessments.
• Lead paint surveys.
• Air quality assessments.
• Asbestos and methamphetamine clearance surveys.
• Fieldwork planning.

• Understands the principles of Health and Safety.
• Demonstrates a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
• Works well in team environments.
• Communicates well with clients, contractors and project managers.

We will consider applicants with no previous experience as long as you can demonstrate the right personal attributes and commitment to further training with the company. However, previous experience and education/training in this field would be an advantage and may include:

• Experience of performing similar fieldwork surveys.
• A good grasp of basic scientific principles.
• A demonstrated ability to execute fieldwork accurately and efficiently.
