Our client is looking for Transmission Line Mechanics to join their tight-knit team based in Hamilton.

The role
Maintaining an Electrical Transmission Network, our client is experiencing sustained growth and is looking to add a Transmission Lines team to their experienced and established operations in Hamilton.
We are seeking experienced and qualified Transmission Line Mechanics to apply their skills to the construction, maintenance, upgrade and repair of the Transmission network across the Hamilton, Rotorua, Warkworth region and the wider North island as required. With a variety of work, there will be some requirement for overtime, weekend work and away trips depending on the projects and the workload.

Duties:
- To ensure the construction and maintenance of Transmission lines to customer requirements are met in a timely, appropriate and efficient manner
- To perform transmission installation and maintenance works as directed
- To support the maintenance of transmission lines, changing insulators, steel placements, cable hauling, etc
- Meet customer and regulatory requirements
- Adherence to best practices
- Maintain field paperwork, reports and inspection documentation
- Compliance with health, safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
Skills and experience:
- Solid experience in New Zealand Transmission
- New Zealand Certificate in Electricity Supply; E1 minimum, E2 preferred
- Experience on Transpower assets an advantage
- Full New Zealand Class 1 driver's licence; Class 2 an advantage
- Previous experience in Substations / underground cables an advantage
- Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills
- Safety conscious
- Displays reliability and the ability to work as part of an efficient team
- Can remain productive in a fast-paced varied working environment
