We're looking for a passionate and talented Equipment / Hardgoods Merchandiser to join our team at the Macpac Support Office in Hillsborough, Christchurch. The Merchandising team are at the hub of our Support Office, with key touchpoints with every department – from Design to Finance. We're looking for someone with a positive attitude who is well organised and self-motivated, and has the ability to work both independently and as part of a small team in a fast-paced environment. This is a details-orientated role that would suit someone with a good understanding of the outdoor market

This is a full time role based at the Macpac Support Office in Hillsborough, Christchurch, reporting to the Merchandise Manager

As part of our Merchandise team the successful candidate will oversee the performance of our line of packs, tents and sleeping bags. Their responsibilities will include:

• Range planning
• Collaboration with design to develop product briefs
• Market and competitor analysis
• Retail price setting, and margin analysis
• Sales and trend analysis
• Promotion planning
• Quantification and forecasting
• Price negotiation with overseas manufacturers

The successful applicant will be an experienced Excel user, and have an understanding of ERP systems. An understanding of the outdoor market is essential
