Following the retirement of our fantastic retail manager, we have some big boots to fill and a unique opportunity for an experienced retail manager to work in a very rewarding sector. This is a very special position managing the EBoP Shops that run on a cycle of community generosity (donations, volunteers and shoppers) to support the Hospice service.
Managing the Eastern Bay of Plenty Hospice Shops, you'll need to be a dynamic multitasker and a relationships superstar with a sympathetic ear. We are graced with some amazing volunteers who deserve kind treatment, appreciation and support to help us run Hospice EBoP's biggest fundraiser.
The Shops Manager is a member of the HEBoP Leadership team, based primarily at the Whakatane shop and overseeing the Opotiki Shop. There's room to learn and grow in this role, with potential for improving our current stores, growing our base, and ongoing training available for the right person.
This is a busy role with lots of different elements, including:
- Being the face of Hospice, representing our service to the public
- Ensuring donors, volunteers and customers feel valued
- Pricing, displays and maintaining day to day shop operations to a high standard
- Managing volunteer rosters, banking and admin
- Attending management meetings and having a voice in overall Hospice Operations
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Empathetic listening and relationship skills
- Retail and management experience
- Creative flair and vision
- Excellent time management skills
- A clean criminal record and full drivers' licence
All the profits from Hospice shops directly fund the local Hospice EBoP to provide end of life care to patients and help them live every moment the best they can.
