Riviera Hardware Holdings operate Mitre 10 Mega Albany, Warkworth and New Lynn along with Mitre 10 Whangaparaoa, three Columbus Coffee shops within our stores and Riviera Prenail Frame and Truss.

Mitre 10 Mega Albany are currently undergoing a large scale redevelopment and expansion project which will see us become the largest Big Box Retailer in New Zealand.

About the role

Our customer services and checkout team play an integral role in the delivery of an exceptional shopping experience for our customers. Due to growth we are expanding our team and are now seeking an experienced Customer Services Supervisor to lead the team and deliver the highest customer service standards. 

Leading a team of over 30 team members you will be responsible for ensuring customer KPIs are achieved, customer service processes are 100% compliant and that the team continue to learn and grow in their roles.

Key role responsibilities

  • Coaching, training and development of team members including managing performance.
  • Onboarding of new team members
  • Workforce planning - assisting with rostering and ensuring the appropriate cover for customer services and checkouts
  • Act as the systems champion for the department
  • Working with customers to resolve complaints
  • Ensuring processes are followed and promoting a culture of continuous improvement

You will have

  • A passion for customer service, with customers at the heart of everything you do.
  • Experience in a face to face customer service role at a management level, ideally in retail
  • Previous leadership experience of teams in excess of 10 team members
  • Previous experience rostering and planning work.
  • Demonstrated experience of motivating and managing performance
  • A reasonable understanding of employment relations and health and safety requirements.
  • The ability to thrive working in a fast paced environment and cope well under pressure. 
  • An understanding of legislation as it relates to retail - Fair Trading Act, Consumer Guarantees Act
  • Technology savvy, enjoy working with and ability to quickly learn different systems.
  • The ability to work full time including a Sunday each week subject to a roster covering store trading hours.
