About the business and the role:

Are you a passionate and experienced retail assistant? Do you love fine linens and luxurious home wares? Baksana, one of the leading names in home wares and sleepwear in New Zealand and Australia has a shop on Featherston St, Wellington CBD and we're recruiting for a Sales Assistant. If you have a strong retail background in home wares and possess excellent people, customer service, sales and merchandising skills then we would love to hear from you!

Job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assisting the store manager with daily operations, merchandising, sales and strategy planning.
  • Sales of retail products.
  • Having an eye for detail and merchandising the store to a high level to reflect trends and the brand's identity.
  • Overcoming sales objections with a focus on creating and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
  • Help to grow the brand in the Wellington region.
  • Keeping on top of daily/weekly operations, such as inventory control and maintaining the look of the store to a high standard.
  • Exceptional customer service.
  • Strong communication skills with staff and Head Office management.
  • Fostering a positive, successful and profitable culture.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Previous relevant experience within the retail industry, ideally with a specific focus on home wares.
  • A dynamic and highly sales driven individual with a proven record of exceeding customer expectations.
  • Possess a high level of self-motivation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Passion for retail.
  • Confident leader who can motivate and challenge the team to deliver.
  • A results driven, hands-on attitude.
  • Creative merchandiser with an eye for detail.
  • Experience in managing stock levels and making decisions about stock control.
