Our drive to continue to do things differently and enhance our customers’ shopping experience across our national store network, sees us looking for an experienced Store Innovation Designer to join our Store Innovation and Implementation team.
As a result of an internal promotion, we have an opportunity for you to become a trail blazer within an iconic, leading New Zealand retailer.
This role is focused on the preparation and delivery of effective and innovative visual merchandising and data driven displays to create a world class, visually stunning brand proposition and in-store retail environment.
This office-based position will work closely with our Store Innovation & Implementation Manager to deliver solutions across our nationwide store network. This role will see you working cross-functionally with our Marketing, Merchandise, Store Development and Retail Operations teams, and requires effective communication, cross-functional collaboration and execution of the store innovation strategy.
To be successful in this position you will need:
a relevant industrial design, graphic (visual communications) design or visual merchandising qualification, along with a proven track record in a similar role - ideally within a large retail organisation;
a sound understanding of merchandising retail design – firm grasp of industry best practice product displays, industry terminology, attractive presentation and equipment types and specification;
customer centric – understand the customer journey and look to make the product/bays easier to shop;
good communication skills, especially regarding Visual Guide creation (planograming) - can give clear, simple and accurate prescription around layout, equipment, signage POS to both stores and suppliers without being able to brief them face to face;
excellent computer skills to bring your vision to life - Photoshop & InDesign;
software experience essential; and 3D modelling in Sketchup; and
ability to multi-task and work to an agreed strategy and see it through to completion.
